Smile and ignore it

My finger hurts. It’s swollen and painful and there’s nothing I can do about it. This is new. I’ve never had anything like this before. There’s no sign of a bite or sting, so it’s probably my immune system acting up, even though it’s just this one finger. It hurts to use it in any way. I’m having trouble with activities from typing to wiping my own ass. So what can I do?

Smile and ignore it, that’s what I can do. I spoke to my doc. I’ll take some extra Vitamin D. I’ll ice it. I’ll take some arnica. But there’s really nothing else I can do, so I’ll just smile and ignore it and move on with my day. It sucks, but so be it. I’ve suffered worse before, and I’m sure I will again.

And since typing is incredibly painful, I’ll make this a short post. Time to smile, ignore it, and read a book. I’m just glad this is one that can be ignored (sort of.)

Maybe you could get a little cortisone joint injection. I had a finger joint swell (left index finger PiP) and it never went down. In the space of a year it fused and I can’t bend it at all anymore. And that was while I was on Humira and Mtx.
By the time I finally got it injected it was too late. On the plus side it doesn’t hurt

I’m sorry to hear that! Thanks for the advice. It’s been less than a day so far, but if it continues past this long weekend, I’ll definitely get it checked out. Do they know what caused yours?

Maybe it was a 1 finger mini flare for me. There was some swelling in the hand and it’s hard to make an extra appointment for just a little swelling.
I should have because there aren’t many hand joints you can spare. Did a blog post about a friend’s knuckle replacement. It looks good so maybe eventually I can get more movement back by having an op.

I hope yours disappears – more likely will do that I hope.

They think I have an infection, so let’s hope the antibiotics help!

Good you were on top of it and got it looked at. I hope the antibiotics work fast.

Well, when the skin started turning yellow I figured I should stop being stubborn and see the doctor šŸ™‚ Thanks for the support!

  2. Its such as you read my mind! You seem to grasp a lot approximately this, like you wrote the ebook in it or something. I think that you simply could do with some % to pressure the message home a bit, but other than that, this is wonderful blog. A fantastic read. I will certainly be back.
